Teams work with a coach, who creates a skills development program to strengthen their performance at their perspective skill levels. The program includes a combination of tennis stroke production, court strategy/tactic drills, match play, and observing teams during match play. Drill sessions take place at various sites throughout the metropolitan area. The ultimate goal of each team is to win first place in WATL, and advance to the Sectional and National Championships. Applications for membership are accepted beginning in March of each year, when the formation of teams is finalized for the summer season. The membership of ECTC consists of adult and senior men and women who play on competitive teams that compete in the Washington Area Tennis League (WATL) and who wish to play tennis socially. Club colors are purple and white in any combination. The Club adheres to the same Code of Conduct and court ethics as set forth by the United States Tennis Association (USTA).
